The Bible says in Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that
believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." And Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." And then John 1:16 says, "But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" There is one key to receiving eternal life and that
is believing. If a person does not believe, he will never be saved; if he does not believe that the Bible is true he will never be saved. The
simple act of believing that God is and that His Word is truth will give a person eternal life, a home in Heaven, forgiveness of sins, freedom
from the guilt of sin, an abundant life, and so much more that we could talk about for days.  However, our faith should not stop with just salvation. The "just shall live by faith" - Hebrews 10:38. Notice, in I Thessalonians 2:13 which says, "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually
worketh also in you that believe," that the Word of God will work in us if we believe. Now if you read that verse in context, the first part of
it is talking about salvation. Because they received the Bible as the Word of God they were saved, but then the verse goes on to say that the
same Word of God worketh (present tense) in them that believe (present tense). The Christian life is walking daily with the Lord in the light of
His Word and allowing it (the Word of God), which is "quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword" to pierce us and change us. So why
are so many Christians still living a life of sin and carnality? Because they do not believe God's Word. There are countless commandments in the
Bible that the average saved person (so called) does not do. We won't go into those right now, rather I want to look at a few things that
believing will bring forth in your life. And I am not going to quote these verses, I am just going to give you the references and let you do a
little studying: Mark 9:23 - all things will be possible to you. Mark 11:23 - mountains can be removed. Mark 11:24 - prayers can be answered.
John 11:40 - you will be able to see the glory of God. II Corinthians 4:13 - you will speak of Him. I Timothy 4:10 - we will labor and suffer
reproach. Hebrews 11:26 - we will please Him and be rewarded of Him.  Now there are several reasons why a person does not believe and I want to
look at a few of them. 1. He does not know on what to believe, he has never been told. As the blind man in John 9:36 asked the Lord Jesus
Christ, "Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on Him?" 2. They are not truly saved as in John 10:26, "But ye believe not, because ye are not of
my sheep, as I said unto you." 3. They would rather have honour of men (men pleasers) than obey God and have seek to glorify Him. John 5:44,
"How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?"
I will leave you with two questios from God Himself? "And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be
ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?" Numbers 14:11. "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the
prophets have spoken:" Luke 24:25. Till next time, may the Lord bless you.
