Proverbs 3:5&6  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

This has always been one of my favorite verses, as a matter of fact, I usually say that it is my life's verse, but it wasn't till just recently that the last part of it has really become alive to me. Don't you love it when the Lord makes a Scripture alive to you? As some of you already know, I've been facing some physical problems and the Doctors are recommending surgery. And the whole time, since I found out what was wrong and all, I have been very troubled about the whole thing, but these two verses, especially verse 6 has kept resounding in my heart, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." I've been seeking the Lord's face and seeking His will on each detail I have been acknowledging Him and, PRAISE THE LORD!!!! just this week He has fulfilled the last part, He has directed my paths and given me some of the answers that I had been searching for. Now, I know that there are still some answers that I need, but I know that He will direct me in those as well in the near future. But, as I have been pondering on this for the last few days, I was thinking back at some of the times in my life that I have not acknowledged Him in all my ways, and boy have I got in a mess. I believe that the Lord wants us to seek His will in the even the smallest decesions, and He will give us the answers. One example in the Bible of this is Joshua and the children of Israel. Joshua 6:2, we see the Lord telling Joshua exactly what to do to take the city of Jericho after Joshua met the captian of the Lord's host; and of course, we know that they obeyed and the Lord flattened the city and they destroyed it. However, in the very next chapter we see that Joshua and the children of Israel are a little over confident, no where do we see anybod praying and seeking God's will on the matter and they even go as far as to decide that just a few thousand should be sent to the cit of Ai to destroy it, that all the people shouldn't be made to labour. And if you know the story, the people of Ai come out and put those few thousand to shame. Of course, it was all because of Achan's sin, and after they had been beat then Joshua and all the elders sought the Lord's face and the Lord told them that there was sin in the camp. If they had only sought His face before hand then the lives of those men that died in the battle could have been spared and the would not have been put to shame in the sight of the Canaanites. We are the same way many times, we get too confident in thinking that we can make decesions on our own.But in reality, it is like the song says, "I can't even walk without you holding my hand." That is so true.

Another example is Queen Esther, if you know the story, Mordecai asked Esther to go before the King and plead for the lives of her people and her reaction (which was king of like me with this surgery thing) was in my words, "I can't do that!" However, when she got to praying about it, she found out that she could do it and she surrendered to the Lord's will; and we know how the Lord not only gave her grace in the eyes of the King, but also used her mightily to spare the lives of her people. In closing I want to leave you with some verses: Psalm 34:10 says, The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Prov. 28:5, Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Isaiah 55:6, Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isaiah 55:6

Until next time, may the Lord bless you.
