"I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation." Jeremiah 15:17
The Prophet Jeremiah was a prophet that was hated and despised because he prophesied what God said, which was condemnation and destruction from God
that was coming. He stood for what was right when all the other prophets were prophesying lies and because of his stand he stood alone. It is the
same in the wicked generation today; if you stand for what is right and stand for the truth of the Word of God you will often be standing alone.
The Lord told Jeremiah that the people were going to fight against him and that He had called him to do a work that was not going to be
pleasant. And Jeremiah was faithful. He got discouraged and said at one point that he was going to quit, but he couldn't and he prophesied the
truth to the end. I think about Queen Esther going in alone before the King to fight for her people. Sure she was terrified, at first she wasn't
going to do it, but then she surrenedered to the work and said, "if I perish, I perish."(Esther 4:16). Job stood alone in his affliction, a
reading of Job 19 shows us that no one would really come to his aid, his three friends did nothing but accuse him, his servants, kinsfolk and even
his wife forsook him. This brings me to another point; Genesis 2:18 says, "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I
will make him an help meet for him." Ladies we have to be careful that we do not leave our husbands standing alone. He needs you to stand with him.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 says, "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if
two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?" Your husband needs you to stand with him in raising and training the
cildren, teaching them the Word of God, living Bible standards, and much more.(keep in mind this is not you trying to lead but simply standing
with him, helping him when he falls). You say, my husband is lost; he still needs you to stand with him and support him; even though you may
not agree with him it is the right thing to do.  Any Pastor, man, woman, child, or family that has to stand alone for the
truth of the Word of God is really not standing alone. The Lord said in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." The Lord stood
alone when He was crucified, all the human world and all the wicked powers of the air were fighting against Him; even God the Father had to
turn His back as the Saviour bore our sins. And in Hebrews it says that He is an High Priest that is touched with the feelings of our
infirmities. He knows what it is like to have to stand alone and ,yes, He cares. Run to Him, lean on Him, look to Jesus he is ready to help. The
one thing that we have to be careful of is standing alone in our flesh. Martha was heard complaining to the Lord about havimg to do all the work
alone, but the Lord explained to her that she was forgetting the needful thing of sitting at His feet and basking in His presence. And before I
wrap this up, let me remind you of what the Lord told Elijah when he was down in the dumps about serving the Lord all by himself. "Lord, they have
killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have
reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant
according to the election of grace." Romans 11:3-5. Glory to God!
Until next time.
