"He that trusteth in his own heart is a
fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered." -
Proverbs 28:26
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge
him, and he shall direct thy paths." -
Proverbs 3:5-6.
I hear people give cousel to young people all the time that
goes something like, "Just follow your heart," or "You'll
know the answer in
your heart." On the other hand, when you talk to people
about salvation and being born again, a lot of times they
will say something like, "I
feel in my heart that I'm saved." But what people do not
realize is that "The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can
know it?" - Jeremiah 17:9 That is why it says in Proverbs
28:26 that he that trusteth in his own heart is a FOOL; your
heart will trick you and
if you put your trust in it you will be sorry. The Lord
Jesus Christ said in Mark 7:21-23, "For from within, out of
the heart of men, proceed evil
thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts,
covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil
eye, blasphemy, pride,
foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and
defile the man." Your heart is wicked and full of wickedness
and foolishness. You know the
Bible says in Proverbs 22:15 that "Foolishness is bound in
the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive
it far from him." Some of us
have never had all that foolishness beat out of us and then
Proverbs 19:3 says, "The foolishness of man perverteth his
way: and his heart fretteth
against the LORD." That word fretteth means to be vexed,
chafed, irritated, angry. When we are trusting in our
foolish heart to guide us
in making decisions, we will become angry and irritated at
the Lord when all the time, He is trying to lead us in His
way and work things out for
our good, but we want our own way (Prov. 14:12). That is why
the Bible says for us to trust in the Lord, not in our own
understanding in
Proverbs 3:5-6.It doesn't matter if it is about salvation,
who to marry, how to treat your husband and your children,
what to answer someone who
has asked counsel of you, or whatever; seek the Lord's mind
and his Word for the answer, don't go on your own feelings.
Bathe is with much prayer
and search the Scriptures for the answer. I can think back
about numerous times in the past that had went by my own
feelings, I would be in a mess
right now, but the Lord gave me warning in praying and
searching His Word and I chose to go another way and now I
am so glad for it. Praise the
Lord, He told us in James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom to ask
and it will be given to us. Thank the Lord, I hope this has
been a blessing to you.
Have a great day today and keep on the firing line.
