WITCHCRAFT
The interest in Witchcraft today is becoming widespread. With the glamorous
portrayal of witches on television and in the movies, such as The Craft
and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, many young people are becoming involved
in witchcraft without really understanding what a serious decision they are
making.
What exactly is witchcraft? It is a religion that has been around for
centuries, almost as long as the world has been here. There are many different
"types" of witchcraft, but they all basically believe in a Mother Goddess and
a Horned God; they are polytheistic (believe in more than one god). All
types of witches also believe the same following elements:
1. A belief in reincarnation. In their belief a person can only move forward
in the chain, not backward to become a fly or some animal.
2. A belief that all objects are alive and have souls.
3. A belief that females should be in leadership.
4. A belief that you can "do your own thing" as long as it doesn't hurt anybody.
5. A belief that people can evolve into a spiritually enlightened state and
even into a god.
Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say about each one of these
beliefs and find the truth about this religion.
1. Reincarnation -
Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment:" According to this verse a person only has one chance on this earth not many.
2. Everything has a living soul -
Genesis 2:7 says, "And Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul."
People are the only ones on the earth

that the Bible makes reference to having a soul. This will be found in
I Thessalonians 5:23
also.
3. Females should be in command -
Genesis 3:16 says, "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy
sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy
desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."
When the first man and woman sinned in the Garden of Eden, God put a
punishment on them. The woman's punishment was that the man would rule over
her during her life on this earth.
4. You can do whatever you want to, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. -
Romans 14:7 says, "For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to
himself."
God set it up to where everything we do, good or bad, will affect someone
else, especially those that we love the most.
5. It is possible to evolve to a higher spiritual state/godhood -
Genesis 3:5 says, "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then
your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
The person talking in this passage is the Devil; he is telling Eve that she
can become a god by disobeying God and eating of the tree that was off limits.
He was lying, if you will read the rest of the story you will find that Adam
and Eve lost everything.
The organized church of witchcraft today is the Church of Wicca. The word
wicca means "wise ones," but it also means twisted, bent or warped. They
call themselves wise ones" because they are reaching and always trying to
attain a higher form of knowledge and to be enlightened with a super-natural
wisdom. However, the second meaning of the word shows the real character of
this religion. As mentioned before, the first person in the world to offer a
higher knowledge to humans was the Devil himself. The theology of Wicca is
actually bent and warped against the principles of God Almighty. There are
many warnings about witchcraft in the Bible. Please take heed. Deuteronomy
18:10-12 says:
